What is UOHS about and how does it stand out from other healthcare events?

UOHS is the University of Ottawa’s largest undergraduate conference, 2021 marks our 11th year of hosting the event. We have curated a list of diverse and interesting speakers who are experienced in the healthcare field. Highlights include Dr. Vera  Etches, the Medical Officer of Health for Ottawa Public Health and Dr. Gigi Osler, who specialises in head and neck surgery and actively volunteers in Africa to train other surgeons.
 
Our goal is to not only focus the medical side of healthcare, but all aspects including engineering, politics, ethics, environment, and research. Unlike other healthcare events, you will not only be able to listen to speakers, but also network with industry professionals, participate in interactive panels, and be entered in raffles & giveaways.

How do I qualify for the asynchronous certificate of participation, if I couldn't attend the seminars live?"

Accepted Answer

As promised, for those that did not attend all 6 sessions, and would like to receive a participation certificate, please complete this FORM (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf1eCOds0CY6ohNmrlP3ANnY6ZFJ-5a_HHXMQFKC8bhutozSg/viewform)by March 21st at 11:59 pm. Once the deadline has passed, no certificates will be issued.

When will I recieve the signed certificate of participation?

We will be sending the certificates within the next month (March) as we go over attendance records. The certificates will be sent out by email

Where do I access video recordings of the seminar?

Accepted Answer

For delegates that registered and were unable to attend live, video recordings have been sent to your registered email. The last 4 seminars have been uploaded on our Heysummit website for those that registered and on our Youtube. These can be found under the tab of "Tickets 2021" > "recordings" on our website. It is only available for delegates that bought a ticket.

How will attending this event improve my resume?

Accepted Answer

The seminar series will host a multitude of professional and experienced speakers from varied areas of the healthcare field. It is a great opportunity to expand your network and learn about new emerging parts of the field.
Participants will be given a certificate of participation signed by the Vice Dean of Science from the University of Ottawa, showing potential employers your initiative and interest in healthcare.
